  • What ages do you accept at your Oceanside preschool?

    We serve children ages 2–5 in age-appropriate preschool and Pre-K classrooms. Contact the preschool office to confirm the best classroom for your child.

  • What are your hours and schedule options?

    We are open Monday–Friday from 7:30 AM–5:30 PM. Families may choose 2-, 3-, or 5-day schedules with half-day and full-day options, based on availability.

  • How do preschool tours work?

    Tours are available by appointment. You’ll visit the classrooms and playground, meet our team, review schedules and tuition, and ask questions about your child.

  • What does faith-based mean?

    Christian values such as kindness, patience, forgiveness, prayer, and respect are woven naturally into each day. Families from every background are welcome.

  • Are you a licensed preschool?

    Yes. First Presbyterian Preschool is a licensed California child care center.

  • How will I receive updates about my child?

    We use Brightwheel for daily updates, announcements, forms, payments, and direct communication with teachers and the preschool office.

  • How do you handle allergies?

    Child safety comes first.
    We work with families to understand allergies before the first day.
    If your child has allergies, we’ll:


    • Review your child’s needs and any required care plan
    • Communicate with the classroom team
    • Help families understand snack and lunch guidelines


    For severe allergies, ask the office about specific procedures and required forms.

  • What is your illness policy?

    We want kids healthy and classrooms safe.


    • If a child has symptoms of illness, we ask families to keep them home.
    • If a child becomes sick at school, we’ll call for pickup.
    • The preschool office can share the current illness guidelines and return-to-school expectations.
  • What does a typical day look like?

    A typical day includes:


    • Warm welcome and free play
    • Circle time with songs, stories, and early learning
    • Small-group learning centers and hands-on activities
    • Outdoor play and movement
    • Snack and lunch times based on your child’s schedule
    • Rest or quiet time for younger classes
    • Art, music, and creative play
    • Pickup routines that keep transitions calm and consistent
