  • What denomination are you?

Oceanside First Presbyterian Church is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), one of the largest Presbyterian denominations in the United States.

If you're not familiar with Presbyterian churches, that's okay. Most guests aren't looking for a denomination, they're looking for a church community where they can grow spiritually, build relationships, and explore faith honestly.

Our church is rooted in the historic Christian faith and centered on Jesus Christ. We value biblical teaching, thoughtful faith, meaningful worship, and serving our community with compassion.

You do not need to be Presbyterian to attend. In fact, many of our members come from different church backgrounds or no church background at all.

  • What do Presbyterians believe?

Presbyterians believe that God loves people more than we can imagine and that Jesus Christ came to bring forgiveness, hope, and new life.

We believe the Bible is God's Word and that faith grows through worship, prayer, learning, service, and community.

Presbyterians have a reputation for asking thoughtful questions and engaging both heart and mind. We believe faith is strong enough to handle honest conversations, doubts, and lifelong learning.

At Oceanside First Presbyterian Church, you'll find people who are growing in faith together—not people who have everything figured out.

  • What happens on a Sunday morning?

When you arrive on a Sunday morning, you'll be greeted by real people, not pressured, singled out, or asked to stand up and introduce yourself.

Our worship services include music both traditional and contemporary, prayer, Scripture readings, and a message designed to connect biblical truth with everyday life.

Some people arrive early to visit with friends. Others slip quietly into a seat and take a moment to breathe before worship begins.

Whether you've attended church your whole life or haven't stepped inside a church in years, you'll find a welcoming community seeking to follow Jesus together.

Most services last about an hour and 10 minutes.

  • What if I don't know the Bible?

    You're not alone.

Many people who visit Oceanside First Presbyterian are exploring faith or returning to church after years away.

You don't need Bible knowledge to attend. Come as you are, ask questions, and learn at your own pace.

  • What if I've been hurt by church?

We know that for some people, church is associated with pain rather than comfort. You may have experienced judgment, hypocrisy, exclusion, conflict, or disappointment in a previous church experience.

We can't change what happened to you.

What we can do is offer a community that seeks to reflect the grace, truth, and love of Jesus Christ.

If you're returning to church cautiously or simply exploring faith again we understand. You're welcome to take things one step at a time.

  • What makes your church unique?

Oceanside First Presbyterian Church has been part of the Oceanside community for generations.

On any given Sunday, you'll find retirees, military families, parents, young adults, longtime residents, and first-time guest worshiping together.

We're a church that values both deep roots and open doors.

We take the Bible seriously without pretending to have every answer.

We care about meaningful worship, authentic relationships, and serving our community in practical ways.

Most of all, we're a church that believes God's grace is bigger than our mistakes, God's truth is worth seeking, and God's love is meant to be shared.
