More Than Childcare. Faith That Sticks (and Fun That Lasts)

We want kids to leave with something they can carry into the week.

Each Sunday includes

One Bible story.

One Big idea.

One Simple next step.

One Family question to talk about on the way home.

Clear answers about check-in, safety, and pick-up at Oceanside First Presbyterian Church.

Your First Sunday Made Simple

  • What ages do you serve in Kids Church and Sunday School?

We serve infants through 5th grade every Sunday at 10:00 AM. We group kids by age so the room, lesson, and activities fit their stage. If you tell us your child’s age when you arrive, we’ll get them with the right leader.

  • How early can we check in before the 10:00 AM service?

Check-in opens at 9:50 AM. If you arrive early, we’ll help you get settled, meet the leaders, and find the room without rushing.

  • How does secure check-in and pick-up work?

You’ll check in at the Kids Min Door and receive a name tag for your child. At pick-up, we release children through a matching tag or check-out process so the right adult picks up the right child.

  • Are kids ministry volunteers background checked?

Yes. We require a background check for volunteers who serve with minors. We also train our team on kid safety, classroom expectations, and how to respond if a child needs help. We use Live Scan and Shepherds Watch to run our background checks.

  • What if my child has allergies or special needs?

Tell us at check-in and we’ll note it so the room leaders know. If your child has food allergies, we avoid food-based snacks unless you approve. If your child needs extra support, we’ll partner with you to make a game plan that helps them feel safe and included.

  • What if my child feels nervous or cries at drop-off?

That’s normal, especially on the first Sunday. We’ll move at your child’s pace and help them connect with a trusted leader. You can stay for a few minutes, then we’ll contact you if your child needs you via text.

  • Can my child stay with me in the worship service?

Yes. Kids are always welcome in worship at Oceanside First Presbyterian Church. Many families start in worship and then move to Kids Church when their child feels ready. We also provide activity bags to keep those little minds active.

  • Where do I park and where do I take my kids first?

Park in our lower lot. Then follow the signs and over to the sanctuary, enter through the glass doors, inside a greeter will walk with you to check-in and your child’s room.
