Great, practical Biblical teaching. Terrific mix of hymns and contemporary music. Loving, caring, welcoming and fun congregation of all ages. Wonderful church that supports programs offering practical help and support for those who are struggling. A great way to start off a new week fresh with worship at 10 am on Sunday!

Both of our boys went to First Pres for two years of preschool and we would give 6 stars if possible. The community, teachers, programs and growth are top notch, so much so we decided to stay for kindergarten. The art, music and play are our kids favorites.

We were looking for a church home about four years ago. We visited Oceanside First Presbyterian and we’ve been there ever since. Pastor Mike told us this as we left that first Sunday, “We aren’t perfect by any means, but our goal is to become more like Jesus everyday.” That really spoke to us. There is such an incredible blend of reaching out to help others through food give always, supporting homeless outreach, and working with others through community programs. Jesus is proclaimed as Lord through inspiring messages and a vibrant worship experience. I, personally, participate in a regular men’s Bible Study, a men’s fraternity (featuring a focus on Legacy Minded Men), and I look forward to each every week. My favorite experience each week is gathering in what’s called The Pastor’s Study. Can you believe that our Pastor invites input from anyone in the congregation as he prepares his sermon?! That’s exactly what happens as we gather around scripture each week and share our insights and questions. How many pastors are willing to do that? Our church also has an amazing pre-school with an impeccable reputation (there’s a waiting list, but give it a try). So anyway, if you’re looking for a place to find your faith, grow your faith, and/or share your faith, you’ve got family waiting for you!

Oceanside First Presbyterian Church is the most warm and welcoming church that I have ever been to. They have an excellent Plan Your Visit program to make sure you are greeted (and seated with a member if you choose) and welcomed into the congregation. What I remember most from my first visit was the friendliness of the congregation, especially the member who sat next to me and guided me throughout the service. I also enjoyed the three-minute congregation greetings (every weekly service). I loved the positive sermon themes, the Praise Band, the Choir, even the way this church distributes communion by intinction. Pastor Mike is an exceptional Pastor encouraging the congregation every week to be more like Jesus. His sermons are inspiring and comforting. I encourage all of you to be part of his current sermon series "Journey through the Gospel of Mark: Are You Ready For Jesus.
