Below are answers to frequently asked questions from individuals and families throughout North County.

  • Why do families from North County choose Oceanside First Presbyterian?

Many individuals and families from across North County tell us they were searching for something deeper than a church service. They were looking for a community of people who genuinely love Jesus, care for one another, and desire to live out their faith in everyday life. At Oceanside First Presbyterian, we believe the Christian life is about knowing God, following Christ, and allowing His love to transform us from the inside out. People come from throughout North County because they long for a church where faith is more than a tradition—it's a relationship with the living God.

  • What denomination is Oceanside First Presbyterian Church?

We are a Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) congregation. While denominational identity has its place, our greatest desire is to point people to Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible is God's Word, that salvation is found through Christ alone, and that every person is invited into a life-changing relationship with Him. Our focus is not simply on religion but on helping people know, love, and follow Jesus.

  • What happens on a Sunday morning?

Our worship service begins at 10:00 AM and includes prayer, Scripture reading, worship through music, and a Bible-based message. We gather because we believe God is worthy of our worship and because we need His truth to shape our lives. Whether you're exploring faith or have followed Jesus for many years, our hope is that every Sunday points you closer to Him. Services typically last about 70 minutes.

  • What should I wear?

Come as you are. Some people dress casually, while others prefer more traditional attire. What matters to us is not how you look on the outside but that you feel welcomed and encouraged as you seek God. We want you to feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.

  • Do you have programs for children?

Yes. We believe children are a gift from God and an important part of the church family. Kids Club is available for infants through 5th grade during worship and provides a safe, caring, and engaging environment where children can learn about God's love and truth. A nursery is available for our youngest children, and families are always welcome to worship together.

  • What if I don't know much about the Bible?

That's completely okay. No one begins their journey with all the answers. Many people who visit are asking questions, exploring Christianity, or returning to church after years away. You don't need a strong Bible background to attend. We would be honored to walk alongside you as you learn more about who God is and what it means to follow Jesus.

  • What if I've been hurt by church before?

Many people carry painful memories from past church experiences, and we don't take that lightly. The reality is that churches are made up of imperfect people. But Jesus remains faithful, loving, and trustworthy. If you've been hurt, you're welcome here. Take your time. Ask honest questions. Our prayer is that you would experience the compassion, grace, and healing that Christ offers.

  • What makes Oceanside First Presbyterian different?

Our desire is simple: to help people know Jesus and follow Him wholeheartedly. We are committed to biblical teaching, sincere worship, authentic relationships, and serving others in practical ways. We believe church is not merely a place to attend but a community where people are transformed by God's love and sent into the world to reflect that love to others.

  • Do I need to become a member to attend?

No. You are welcome to attend worship services, Bible studies, events, and community activities without becoming a member. We encourage people to take time to get to know the church, build relationships, and discern where God may be leading them.

  • Can I watch online before visiting?

Absolutely. Many people choose to watch online before attending in person. Our worship services are available on YouTube and Facebook, allowing you to learn more about our church and become familiar with our community before your first visit.

  • Where is the church located?

Oceanside First Presbyterian Church & Preschool is located at

2001 S. El Camino Real, Oceanside, CA 92054.
