Music Ministry at Oceanside First Presbyterian Church brings people together to worship God, grow in faith, and build lasting friendships.
Our choir is a community of about 30 people who rehearse, care for one another, and help lead worship on Sunday morning. We value good music, but music is not the only reason we gather. We are a community of faith that happens to sing together.
Whether you have years of experience or are simply curious about participating, the first step is a conversation.

The choir offers a regular rhythm of music, prayer, learning, laughter, and friendship.
Members prepare carefully to help lead Sunday worship, but rehearsal is about more than learning notes. It is also a place to grow in faith, encourage one another, and become part of the life of the church.
Musical excellence matters because worship matters. It serves the congregation, supports the message of the service, and helps the church sing together. It does not determine anyone’s worth or place in the community.

The praise team helps lead the contemporary portion of our blended Sunday worship through vocals and instruments.
Like the choir, the praise team exists to serve the congregation rather than perform for an audience. Team members prepare thoughtfully, listen to one another, and help create space for the church to worship together.
Participation depends on the instruments, vocal parts, experience, and leadership needs of the team at that time. The best place to begin is with a conversation.
