Oceanside First Presbyterian Church has served Oceanside since 1948 through worship, Christian community, pastoral care, and local service. Today, we are a multigenerational congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), helping people experience God’s grace, learn God’s truth, and share God’s love.
Across generations, we have celebrated life’s greatest joys and stood beside people through its hardest losses.
Oceanside has grown and changed, but one truth has remained constant: God’s grace.

In 1948, Oceanside was growing rapidly. Families were moving into the community. Military personnel were arriving through nearby Camp Pendleton. New neighborhoods were taking shape all across North County.
As the city grew, local Christian leaders recognized a simple need: People needed a place to encounter Jesus, build meaningful relationships, and find spiritual support for everyday life.
Oceanside First Presbyterian Church was established to meet that need.
From the beginning, the vision was never just to build a church building.
The vision was to build a church family.

Since 1948, Oceanside First Presbyterian Church has served the people of Oceanside through changing generations, growing neighborhoods, and an evolving community. As Oceanside expanded from a post-war coastal town into one of North County San Diego's most vibrant cities, OFPC remained a consistent place for worship, community, and spiritual growth.
Over the decades, the church has served military families connected to Camp Pendleton, local retirees, young families, children, students, and neighbors from across Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, and surrounding communities. Many families have deep roots here. Some members were baptized at OFPC as children, raised their own families in the church, and now worship alongside their grandchildren.
Others found OFPC during a difficult season and discovered friendship, encouragement, and renewed faith. Today, OFPC continues to be more than a Sunday gathering. It is a community where people find belonging, grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, and learn how to serve others with compassion and purpose.
For more than seventy-five years, our commitment has remained the same:
One of the things that makes Oceanside First Presbyterian Church unique is the people who call it home.
On any given Sunday, you may find preschool children learning about God's love, parents navigating the challenges of raising a family, young adults exploring their faith, and retirees sharing wisdom gained through decades of life experience.
In a culture where generations are often separated, OFPC has always sought to bring them together.
Many families have worshiped here for multiple generations. Grandparents, parents, and grandchildren often sit side by side, sharing a common faith and a common community.
At the same time, new families continue to discover OFPC every year through our preschool, worship services, community events, and personal invitations from friends and neighbors.
This blend of long-standing relationships and new beginnings creates something special.
People are not simply attending a service. They are becoming part of a church family.
Whether someone is taking their first steps of faith, raising young children, entering retirement, or navigating a major life transition, they can find encouragement, friendship, and spiritual support along the journey.
For more than seventy-five years, OFPC has remained committed to helping every generation grow in faith and pass that faith on to the next.

From the beginning, Oceanside First Presbyterian Church has believed that investing in children is one of the most important ways we can serve our community. Every generation faces new challenges, new opportunities, and new questions about life, purpose, and faith. That's why OFPC has remained committed to helping children and families build strong foundations that last.
One of the most visible expressions of that commitment is our preschool ministry. For decades, families throughout Oceanside and North County have entrusted their children to the care of dedicated teachers who create a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
For many families, the preschool becomes their first connection to the church.

But our commitment to the next generation extends beyond the classroom.
Through children's ministry, family support, mentoring relationships, and opportunities to grow in faith, OFPC seeks to come alongside parents and grandparents as they invest in the lives of their children. We believe healthy communities are built one generation at a time.
That's why investing in children isn't simply one of our ministries. It's part of our calling.
As we look toward the future, we remain committed to helping the next generation experience God's love, discover their purpose, and grow into people who will make a positive difference in Oceanside and beyond.
